Lemon Sponge Cake

225g self-raising flour
225g butter unsalted
225g sugar
4 eggs
10ml milk
2 zest of lemon

Method For the lemon sponge cake

1) Turn the oven on mark no 7, which is equivalent to 190c to 200c 374f to 392f
2) sift the flour and baking powder
3) Add the remaining ingredients and give a good whisk together. Make sure you scrape
the sides
4) Line a loaf tin with parchment baking paper or a cake tin, then drop the mixture inside
5) Bake in the oven for about 50 minutes, then take it out and let the cake rest on gridle and ENJOY!!!!!!!!

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 160℃ and line the base and sides of a 20cm round cake tin with baking paper.
  2. Melt butter. Sift cocoa, flour and baking powder into a large bowl and add the coconut, caster sugar, eggs, milk and melted butter. Mix to combine.
  3. Pour the mixture into the prepared cake tin and place in the oven to bake for 1 hour or until a skewer inserted into the centre of the cake comes out clean.
  4. Allow the cake to cook in the tin for 15 minutes before putting it on a wire cooling rack to cool completely.
